THE SHOWER

Life has come full circle.
He can see the starting line again.
Memories from the distant past,
All come down in a torrential rain.

His past, so distant, here today,
Those smiles, the joy, the angst, the pain,
Flitting seconds and endless hours,
All come down in a torrential rain.

Walking along a lonely road,
Cycling past the fields of grain
Those fading pictures from growing years,
All come down in a torrential rain.

The amber rays of memories past,
Crosses his mind like a speeding train
His aged eyes well up with tears and
All come down in a torrential rain.
